Those dreary winter days-

I'm not sure what it is about grey, cloudy skys, but to me, a dreary day just calls for a pot of something cooking on the wood stove!

I grew up with wood heat, and have migrated back to it after years of electric, oil, and even wood pellets. There is something tremendously satisfying about self sufficiency, and I guess that cooking on a wood stove evokes that sense of I-can-take-care-of-myself.

Like snow and hot cocoa, some things just have to be experienced together!  Todays grey skies give birth to a soon to be colorful pot of stew, loaded with all the colors of the veggie rainbow!

Perfect! Since i'm rarely in the house, blogging from my phone is about the only way its going to get done!  That means that they should be short, and hopefully interesting (as well as a bit off the cuff...)
